Hi, You're receiving this email because {name} thinks the Masquerade Mask Salome Repubblica would interest you. Salome is a genre of masks that are derived from the ladies of Cinquecento (the period of Titian), who covered themselves in jewels, expensive clothing and elaborate coifs.  Today, these masks are popular in the Venice Carnival.

This mask features a hand painted scene from ancient Venice looking along the Grand Canal, when gondolas were not solely used for transporting tourists.  They are shown being used as taxis, but also to move goods around the ancient city.

The masquerade mask features a border around the scene of rich gold and a pattern in deep relief.  The face of the mask itself has the 'craquele' effect similar to crazed china, with black lips and eye surrounds.

This is a truly beautiful Venetian mask and would make a stunning feature in your home when hung on the wall.  To see the detail for yourself, click on the images above to see the larger pictures.  The last image of the interior surface of the mask shows that it is made from two pieces and has a finishing white paint.

It measures 40cm long and 27mm wide at the widest point.
