This striking masquerade mask is in purple and gold with purple feathers.  'Ciuffo' in Italian is referring to the feathers that are part of the design of this Venetian Mask.

The tope section of the face of the mask (including the nose) features a gold background with a gold glitter pattern  The lower half of the mask features a purple colour, with a gold glitter pattern.  The centre of the mask below the feather base features a large crystal surrounded by smaller crystals.  The feathers radiate from the centre, firstly with some black and white speckled small feathers, then with soft purple feathers features transitioning to the larger purple feather.  The large feather rises approximately 250mm above the top of the mask base.

The edges of the face of the mask have been beautifully finished with gold braid and the inside has been painted white and you can see that the mask has a genuine paper mache base.
