About Us

 

Company Directors Alan and Kathy have had a shared passion for Italy for a long time. Kathy spent her formative years in Southern Italy as a child and since she and Alan married 30 years ago they have shared a love for Italy.
 

Kathy is fluent in Italian and Alan has invested time in learning the Italian language. They are privileged to have some wonderful friends and strong connections throughout Italy.

Alan and Kathy have made their home and run their business from Auckland, New Zealand, in the South Pacific.  Since we started an online business in 2007, there has been considerable demand for genuine Masquerade Masks in the US and the growing numbers of satisfied customers in that region have seen the business expand to establish a branch presence in the US.

 

Alan’s working life has been spent mostly in Telecommunications and Information Technology.   While in Italy on an extended holiday, he was able to indulge in another one of his passions – road cycling. In New Zealand, he has completed a number of events including twice solo around Lake Taupo and other races around the Auckland region. He is also a keen gardener and has enjoyed completing a formal Italian themed garden at their property in Auckland.

 

Kathy’s adult life has included legal and secretarial work, mothering, university study, community and volunteer work and eleven years as a counsellor. As well as having a heart for people and the community, she is passionate about family, languages, reading and travel (ok, and shopping in Italian markets).

 

Kathy and Alan have three supportive adult children and two lovely daughters-in-law.

The recent major earthquake in Christchurch, (in the South Island of New Zealand) was not felt in Auckland where we live.  However, our hearts and thoughts are with our customers and friends who do live in that once lovely city, now devastated by the recent earthquake.
