This traditional Pulcinella Venetian Masquerade mask measures 460mm high by 180mm wide (18" by 7").  Pulcinella has a cream and gold face with red, black, and raised gold detail in his very tall hat.

The hat on the mask also has a painted image of the traditional Pulcinella character from the Commedia dell'Arte theatre that was popular in Venice hundreds of years ago.

The lower section of the mask also includes a lovely frill below decorated in gold relief on a cream background.

Short History

Pulcinella was a character in Commedia dell'Arte of the 17th Century. It is thought that this character may have led to the development of  "Punch" in the English comedy Punch and Judy.
